As for your question. Yes, you can make some money but not much. The vast majority of people who throw bike events do it for love of the sport and spend sponsors money. If you’re thinking of throwing it out of your own pocket, no way will you make money.
Check out Pinkbike.com and hit up the user ‘dotka’, he’s known for throwing some nice jams up north and will be able to give you some first hand do’s & don’ts.
