salvage car laws in new york?

i bought a fixed salvage car in s.c. knowing it was salvage we have bought 2 cars prior to mine from the same guy work great no problems. moved to new york suddenly having a hard time trying to register it. my thing is all the paper work wants part number and reciepts for repaired parts i nor the dealer have this info i bought the car 6 years ago. i have pictures of the damage nothing too serious was done to the car. i just wanna know if there is any way i can get the people to give me a title for my car without having the reciepts and part number for the stuff.this is why I never recommend salvage cars, and sorry, NO one can make motor vehicles give you a title. in New York anyway. I hope you have a way to get that car back to where its from and sell it back there. That is going to be your best bet at this point. I have heard some states are cracking down harder and trying to be more responsible about dealing with salvage cars, looks like this is one way .Are you able to get full coverage insurance? I know there have been complaints on Y Answers where people paid for full coverage, for years in some cases, the car was totaled, and the insurance refused to pay, citing the vehicle had been totaled already. It is going to get tougher and tougher to deal with salvage cars, thousands of cars disappear every year and are never recovered. thousands of salvage cars are repaired every year, and now need documentation to prove where the parts came from.
