What kind of remote car starter is best for my grandmother?

I want to get my grandmother a remote car starter for Christmas and I’m having a hard time doing research on types. I want to get something better than a single button remote but some of the more intricate ones seem like they would be too technologically difficult for her to use by herself. Does anyone know of any nice quality ones that would be best for an elderly woman? I would like to stay below $150. She has a Hyundai Santa Fe.http://autotechs.com/items/item2303.htm

The link above is the Excalibur RS-320 Remote start and keyless entry system for $89 + $9.95 shipping. It comes with 2 each 4 button remotes to do Lock, Unlock, Remote Start and Trunk or other option. She will not have to use the factory remote, but carry only the new remote that comes with this system.

You might need an additional transponder bypass module depending on what year the Santa Fe is. The bypass module allows the vehicle to be remote started without a key in the ignition. The 2003 – 2010 Santa Fe’s have special keys with the transponder chip that are programmed to the vehicle, and you will definitely need a bypass module for those years of Santa Fe. The bypass modules for the Santa Fe requires that you give up one of the keys to put inside the module, so she will need to have 2 keys, and possibly buy another key so she has a spare key in case she loses one. Go to your local locksmith for a spare key if needed, they are much better with prices than the dealership

You will need your local car alarm shop to install it for you, so you are looking at labor cost on top of whatever remote start you decide to go with, plus a possible bypass module, plus possible extra key. More than likely this is going to cost more than the $150 price limit, but your grandmother will love having the convenience of keyless entry and remote start this winter.

You should always check your local car alarm shops first and make sure they don’t mind you getting your parts online for them to install. Even though you may save some money by buying online, your local shop may have good product in stock ready to install.
